True, for some reason one of my Windows installations failed to recognize a USB3 external drive upon connecting it, but rebooting the same machine into Ubuntu ran it just fine. Of course, there are plenty of explanations, fixes and solutions for the problem, but the fact remains that Ubuntu plug-and-played it on first try.
