People want to print and setup a printer easily, w/o calling on a tech.

Also, where are the serious apps ? Not just Photoshop, altho I agree with your point that GIMP ain't in Photoshop's league, but what about Print Shop ? I can't recall an easy-to-use Print Shop-type app and GIMP definitely can't crack that niche either. Even if it exists, can an intermediate user locate and install this Print Shop-lookalike w/o a tech ? There are a lot of nice Linux apps out there, but too many of them are abandoned by their creators **before** they reach maturity and are suitable for non-techies.
