They depend on us being stupid.
When the 1 TB HDD's came out, does anyone thing that the 1.5, 2 and 2.5 TB HDD's weren't sitting there on the shelf right next to the 1 TB drives? Of course they were! There are still enough dunderheads out there that will snap up a "new" 1 TB drive (thinking that has to be the "biggest"!) Only to be teased into buying a 2 TB drive that was there all the time but "hiding" by not being offered. The same game has always been played with hard disk drives, memory (RAM), processors and all of the rest of it. You should never be teased into snapping up the "latest" component just because it is suddenly being offer for sale. This is the sucker's way of being an end user.
