True, but...
Far be it from me to defend companies that make products that are frustrating or impossible to repair, since I often have to crack open one type of device or another to attempt a repair that might save us from having to buy a whole new device. However, one would have to ask the engineers at these device manufacturers exactly why these manufacturing tricks were actually implemented. It may not be for the reasons we assume and I can easily see how some of these design points could be part of attempts to cut costs on the part of the manufacturer, either by reducing material and build time (glue versus screws, for example) or lowering the frequency and severity of warranty repairs (tamper resistant screws).
