As much as I want it to do well, Surface has quite a few things going against it really too.

Is this going to be too late on the market? Apple has a couple of years head start and there are a pile of others with Android tablets that haven't been as popular. This was what happened with the Zune, the iPod was out for so long that the superior (hardware and software) Zune just never could make many inroads.

This is an even numbered Windows release. We all remember the debacles that are recent even numbered releases (Win ME, Vista).

Will everyone be saying "Lets wait and see how it does"? If too many people say that, then the Surface won't be selling much and everyone waiting will not buy since it isn't selling well. I think this kindof happened to the Zune as well, despite the fact it was a better product.
