Agilent
mckinnej 29th Aug
Just some FYI. Agilent is the, ahem, "real" HP. It is the test equipment division that the company was founded on and was spun off when they decided to become an IT company. They make some of the best test equipment in the world.
I've worked closely with people from Agilent, NI, and MITRE, and this seems pretty accurate as far as they go... I'd work for any one of the three, if I didn't already have a nice career at an FFRDC!

Companies that offer on-site this and that (ie. Google, SAS Institute) do this as a convenience, but the underlying intent is to limit potential reasons for interrupting an extended (typical) work day.
United Space Alliance was started as a cooperative venture between Lockheed and Boeing to handle all the launch preparation for the Space Shuttle. With the end of the Shuttle program, they have had massive layoffs, but still maintain a small presence supporting the International Space Station. If Boeing's CST-100 goes forward or life is breathed back into the Space Launch System (Ares V++), then USA has a chance to grow back. Barring that, I cannot imagine that it will continue operating much longer.
