He was a very strong supporter of Horses and was known to insist that there was no need to make a horse sweat. As for the first time they got ridden breaking to him was never an option he preferred other ways.

His own children where terrified of him if they mistreated a horse as they knew exactly what would happen to them. He worked on Sheep Stations well managed them here and when moving sheep he would spend hours checking the ground for rocks and remove them where the horses where stabled for the night.
