There's only one noticeable thing they're going to accomplish by changing it - they're going to force millions of people to buy new accessories to go with their new phones. It's the same thing that happened when dozens of manufacturers switched from the mini- to the micro-USB. It's an almost unnoticeable difference in size, and yet suddenly all of my adapters were rendered worthless.
