Thank you for sharing this. If I may add you can also check out this blog (http://blog.timedoctor.com/2011/04/23/project-management-with-google-apps) for more project management tools. Yeah, I love Podio and I hope there's still a space for Basecamp here since these are two great software I used in my freelancing career. Again, thank you for a great sharing!

Of course there are plenty of PM tools on Google Apps Marketplace. One can easily notice that it includes simple To-Do list software to fairly complex PM tools. For project managers, looking for reasonably useful project management tool, he/she need to search with combination of different keywords like Gantt Chart, Agile, Issue tracker, Timesheet Tracker beside task management. Why should your team access different systems to manage project activities like updating tasks status/progress, creating new issue/bug, raising risks, updating timesheet entries, etc? I would like to suggest ZilicusPM here. http://www.zilicus.com one integrated tool to manage project activities be it tasks, issues, risks, timesheet or even project documents.I'd certainly recommend ZilicusPM http://www.zilicus.com as a comprehensive project management software.

Did you check out SIASTO (http://siasto.com), their Google Apps integration is unique. No one else has done as tight an integration through their Gmail gadget, which I use all day, to create tasks, events, and even document directly from my inbox. They also provide an awesome and entirely unique Google Drive editor that lets me edit files directly within the SIASTO interface. We also leverage SIASTO's GCal sync to keep our calendars across my 40 person team to keep up-to-date with what's upcoming. We would highly recommend you take a look at SIASTO. It's a great product and the guys are super responsive.
