I've read several biographies of a U.S. President who left office over 50 years ago. He was underestimated during his term and was rated quite low by presidential historians after he left office.

He is quite highly-rated today (as he should be). In his retirement, he was quoted as saying, "I got where I am by concealing my intelligence and letting other people take the credit." Words of wisdom, and good business advice.
