Strange - on my phone it has the option to turn on or off the WiFi when sleeping.
Tap on Wi-Fi which takes you to the screen which lists all the networks you can join, then tap on Advanced and there you have the option 'Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep' which has 3 sub options, 'Never', 'Only when Plugged in' and 'Always'.

The Galaxy S III does have Wi-Fi Power Saving settings, it's just that they are located somewhere else.

If you go to the Wi-Fi menu, where the list of available Wi-Fi networks to chose from is shown, you'll see that on the bottom right there is an "Advanced" button. Inside this menu you will find the setting "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep", where you can select between "Always", "Only when plugged in" or "Never".

Maybe the most useful article I've read in the past year. This saved my phone from an "Office Space" fate, and me a lot of headaches trying to keep my Samsung Galaxy S3 from incessantly bonking out of Wi-Fi.

My phone doesn't do anything when I input *#0011#. Am I doing something wrong or is it locked out or something along those lines? i would really like to get this fixed.
