I just released my first app to the Google Play app store. Its a tip calculator and there is a free and paid version. I am having a hard time getting the first few installs going just to get started. I also don't really have much budget for big time advertising. I have thought about spending $10 to $20 here and there for an AdMob campaign but I'm not sure how much of an impact that would even have. If anyone has any ideas on how much of an effect that would have or any other ideas to check into to get some installs I would greatly appreciate it. I love coding and I really am not concerned weather or not my apps become big sellers I'm in it for the fun of it. But it would be nice to get some installs and feedback/ratings to get an idea of how its working and if there are any improvements I could make. Any help is greatly appreciated.
I am promoting my apps on social media sites and through my blogs, but not getting a good result. Can anyone suggest how to promote developed app or android application development services I do?

I am an android application developer.

I do like Android(and the Java language) but sometimes you must be pragmatic. And to be honest I consider(and many others) the iphone experience to be better than the other ones out there(yet).
