The Emmy's and the Academy Awards have a history of not likeing popular sci fi. They dont mind them getting nominations, but they wont let them actually win the awards.
is that the Academy has no love for syndicated shows.

I will say I'm having trouble washing the stink off it, though...
The episode "The Inner Light" to me was a very powerful story. Stewart gave a strong performance, the story line was mysterious for most of the time and gave meaning to what is existence and what is important to why we are alive. The ending had a somber but an uplifting touch. Just my opinion, but it is better then most shows that get awards.
