For sure there are no big surprises. As previous iPhone's this one had in fact more curiosity and I think with the current list of features it definitely surprises me with lack of innovation around. Apple has been doing great marketing and this time around again it has gone way to ahead, but the product really does not satisfy the hype which was made.
All one can wait for the users experience now..

So do tell. I am listening. What is so boring about iOS 6? The new iPhone is gorgeous and works beautifully. It is lighting fast and pleasure to use. Compared to what is it boring. The bottom line is IT WORKS FLAWLESSLY.

I think you and the rest of the nay sayers are simply jealous of Apple's problems - too many customers and not enough product. How much did you receive from Google for this really bad article?

And shame on TechRepublic to even allow this garbage to be published. Shame on you.
So you're telling me that the expected minimal upgrades have made the iPhone 5 "boring", whatever that means, but that they're flying off the shelves.

My response would be, "Yeah, so?"

Nobody thought the iPhone 4S was a great improvement or a big surprise over the iPhone 4. Still, when it was released there were long lines, sellouts and long waiting periods. And the iPhone 5, which offered incremental improvements over the 4S, still lacks features from its rivals, and offered no great surprises has long lines when it was released, sellouts and long waiting periods.

Lack of real innovation seems to have no real impact on the iPhone's merchantability. No surprise there -- Apple has, with the exception of AppleTV, been able to sell the bejeezuz out of just about any iDevice it produces. Being "boring" doesn't seem to have anything to do with it.

If so little has changed, and production runs so, why hasn't the price come down like normal IT
?

For thousands of years, people pay for thing sas much as they see value. Apparently, Apple's products are considered more valuable by those who buy them, than the rest of the electronic junk. Not that there is no enough choice.
If Apple's product seems overly expensive for you, then you have plenty of choice.
You will even do good to those who wait for it, if you don't buy it, as there will be more for them happy

There is an old English saying: I am not rich enough to buy cheap.
