If any Linux clients use the share, beware the potential for permissions mismatches, which occasionally leaves the Linux user thinking "the server ate my files!"
The article starts with 'install the File and Service Storage Role...'

However this is not enough as this is not inclusive of everything you need. Even Microsoft's documentation is behind reality as it is missing one step to actually make it work. You MUST either install 'All' the components and sub components of this role, or you must navigrate to File and Storage Services/File and iSCSI Services then install 'File Server'

ALL components are not the default installation selection
