My favorite line from one of Woody Allen's Film is issued by a young Allen after he describes to a therapist/psychologist his discovery of the inevitable expansion and certain future demise of the universe as we know it.
"What's the point?"
Windows 7 is a near optimal business enterprise solution for now and the foreseeable future. Most businesses are not even finished transitioning to it yet now Microsoft insists on a new bandwagon before everyone is even on board with Windows 7. The learning readjustment to Windows 8 appears huge and an absurdly unnecessary distraction from far more critical business goals (and belt tightening which means reining in IS costs - not increasing them). Instead urge the executives to get iPads and iPhones if they must have effective mobile tools - most businesses have already incorporated, if not embraced, these tools and Apple's unlikely to introduce changes to its iOS that will be as disruptive as transitioning an organization from Windows 7 to 8.
