They DO get fixed..
Whenever an exploit or bug is discovered in Windows, it's promptly fixed by Microsoft. That's how it's been ever since XP came out with the built-in ability to download updates.

And don't act all wide-eyed innocent pretending that Linux doesn't need updates to fix holes/bugs/exploits. The last time I installed the latest Ubuntu, it wanted to download 168 updates immediately after installation was finished. That was on a fresh install that was barely two weeks after the ISO was released.

Every operating system has bugs, and they ALL get fixed as soon as they're discovered. You make it sound like you're aware of some un-patched exploits in Windows that haven't been fixed in 10 years, but you and I both know that nothing could be further from the truth.

Enjoy your Linux, and all the joys that come with recompiling the kernel every time you want to make the smallest change to the system.
