our ISP is using GMAIL servers, but nobody here is ready to dump Outlook. It seems to work fine in this manner. Multi-device syncing was standardized as well. Most of us in this non-profit association, seem pretty happy with it. The managers are cutting back personnel, and don't want to maintain Microsoft Exchange anymore. They want to offload it to Google. I am not privy to the costs on that side of the equation, but it make sense to me.
