people and organisations are. I don't like trolls of any sort, and I don't like what this guy did, but I do wonder if anyone is putting in the same sort of effort to find the trolls taking up the other side of the issue; and if found, would they get the same treatment.

To give you an idea of what I mean, there's a number of forums I go to that are about writing as I also write fiction. A couple of them are very limited story topics and some are unlimited. One forum is often attacked by a small group of religious extremists who abuse the heck out of any author who dares to mention the word s e x in their stories or even n u d i t y - the trolls pound the forums trying to drive people away. I wonder if these religious right nuts would get treated the same as this nut case.

If they wanted the wackos gone, the wackos would be gone and would have no recourse. (Well, that's the case under American law, anyway.)

I think someone ought to take a look at this guy's private life. He's obviously obsessing in a way that is dangerous to others, and if he's not acted out on his fantasy yet, then there's a good chance he'll escalate. I'd hazard a guess that rarely does someone fantasize on these topics without eventually trying to act out some of those fantasies.

If I was his neighbor, family, or anyone who is around him, especially if he has access to kids and/or young girls, I'd make sure I spoke with those kids to see if he'd done anything to them, then told him he was no longer welcome.

Knowing what I know about people, having studied psychology and sociology, people that fantasize like this are usually either on the verge or are already doing it. Hopefully someone will launch a background investigation on him and get the details. I too fear for his neighbor's children and anyone else around him.

I wonder too how much went on in the background first to get this guy terminated. There's always three sides to a story or situation - his story, their story, and the correct story.

Most mental health experts feel fantasies are a healthy release, kind of a tool so they don't act on their thoughts. It's talk like this (making inuendos that he has done much more) by someone presenting them self as being a credible source of information, that's little more than a war cry to rally the towns folk to grab their pitchforks and destroy the evil monster. Not that much different than being a troll really.

If he was just fantasizing about these blogs then you are probably correct. However he has left the fantasy world and come out so to speak. The blogs are sick and hurtful. He has taken a big step forward so if I were one of his neighbours I would be on red alert. Sickos don't usually stop at the first step. Let's hope that there is no second step but his compulsion may be bigger than him.
