palmy, of the HW manuf makes it to Industry Standards and then does Windows
drivers it will work out of the box with all Unix and Linux, but MS pressure them to make it out of the box current Windows compatible. What's interesting is how much more is now coming out with the need for a Windows driver for any version of Windows, thus indicating it's Industry Standard compatible.

Most hardware drivers for Linux and Unix to run Win compatible hardware are made by dedicated individuals and released into the wild for free.
