Over at Codeweavers.com, you can get Crossover free for a year ... that's a management layer on top of WINE that makes it very easy to run many Windows games (and other software packages) on Linux. May want to check if your favorite games are supported and give it a try.

There's nothing they do that's really not available in WINE (all their changes to WINE move upstream, they're responsible FOSS participants), but they organize it all better, and make it all easier by having pre-built settings for many apps.
