According to Apple's regional reps who have visited, they have been adamant that they have/will not abandon the enterprise altogether. Perhaps BIG enterprise though - hence the hardware deprecation. From my perspective, they have been reasonably responsive with updates to it's server product - building new features in, pushing out updates etc. The onslaught of iOS devices in the workplace, in an of itself, certainly must contribute to their profitability. They don't appear to be slacking off with Profile Manager either - not to mention the sandboxed iOS security architecture.
