For me, iOS is the winner
Despite the Android dominance, iOS remains my choice. I have tried out both platforms and while Android seems to have more cross-platform choices, iOS would beat Android hands down if it got a fraction of the support that Android has. Of course, the wider adoption is largely due to the Google influence.
In addition, Apple's products have been getting refinements year on year and the company does not seem to be slowing down. When it finally comes round and starts buying out other companies, it will be unstoppable. In the meantime, the company has achieved a lot as a solo industry leader in developing hardware and software to go along with its products for years. I will be getting the iPhone 5 soon and an Android Tablet device just to continue the comparisons.
