Think that latest time a lot of managers pay to much attention for the Agile methods. Have the 5+ years in management and sales. My strong advice - If you can't measure the some aspect - you'd better to re-plan or change the task. In any case - no measurement=no result (or unexpected one )
Seeing as you successfully didn't manage to mention that business management ( and therefore a sizable chunk of IT management) interpret agile as we can cope with them changing their requirements at no cost to anything. That they still think, plan, measure and budget as though we were still doing waterfall, I'll simply ignore your article, just like they will.
We are not doing agile, we are doing reactive and realignment when managemnt fail / get bored with their game of hide and seek.
As for the four focuses of software development, where have you been hiding? You go ask them which one of those four they want, the answer is ALL, you IT thickie....
