Drone anti submarine helicopter was scrapped for the manned equivilent, but still crashed when the torpedo/depth charge was dropped. Some of the torpedos weighed more than the helicopter. It's replacement was a solid rocket motor to launch torpedos and depth charges up to 40 miles. Better known as ASROC. Many a small "buffalo hunter" drone was lanched over North Viet Nam by C-130s for photo intelligence and recovered in the Gulf of Tonkin by what ever US warship was nearby.Those drones were small enough to sit on a picnic table and were jet powered.
