Can you change them in W8? This is an interesting hack, but the Apps screen displayed in the last image wouldn't have enough room to display more than perhaps a third of all the apps I currently have (and use!) on my XP and W7 systems. I'd need to ditch the icons and reduce the spacing between the app names to make this work for me.
