Kjasa, congratulations on your first post ever (strange though that you've been in the IT field and this is ONLY your FIRST post!).
well you do have a valid point that experience trumps any certification papers you may acquire...
having over 6 different certifications ranging from Oracle to Microsoft to ITIL i have come to CLEARLY understand that certifications at the most give you an opportunity to be interviewed by a potential employer; what makes you excel at your job is practical experience. no doubt the trainings you get in the course of certifying are useful but they are all theoretical and may not prepare one fully for all the myriad of challenges one faces in the real world scenario.
