I remember PrintMaster versions that are even older than ones that Matt remembers, but I haven't had much use for the application recently. How about you; is an application like PrintMaster something you can use?
The newer versions of PrintMaster will not open the older projects that I created in version 18 and earlier. I have gone back to version 18 for that reason because of all the projects I have created through the years all the back to version 2.
Yes, back in the good old days, even with the dot matrix printers, PrintMaster was the software to use if you wanted to make a card. It was most efficient, and I used a dozen PrintMaster products over the years. When PrintMaster 2.0 came out, I was first in line for it, anxious to upgrade once again. As bowenmr discovered, it was not compatible with all other versions, and it was a frustrating piece of software, hard to use and not intuitive at all. My biggest gripe with 2.0 was that most every clip or add-in I chose involved buying something additional, probably the "packs" you mentioned. It was no longer fun. I sent it back and got my money back (except for postage), and I also vowed never again would I buy PrintMaster. Hallmark is a fun program for me and I recommend it for anyone who likes to make cards, envelopes, flyers, etc.
