Jensen Harris obviously is very good at giving lengthy presentations. My impression is that it is yet another "dog and pony" show designed to sell Windows 8 to the Microsoft consumer base. However, as another comment pointed out, he who has the gold rules. The SOHO market will reject Windows 8 as it did Bob, ME, and Vista. Corporate and educational accounts will follow suit. The only segment that will probably like it will be the mobile and tablet crowd and they do not need an OS that will give them the ability to be totally productive in a business environment. The mobile and tablet crowd don't have the numbers or money to make this a Microsoft success. Then, of course, there is the Microsoft Surface, which will join Windows 8 on the "did not make it" shelf but that is another story altogether. If Microsoft continues on this line of thinking and development I believe that it will be safe to say that their "day in the sunlight" will gradually fade.
