I hadn't made you as a 'topic purist', either (any post that uses an allegory, simile, metaphor, [or aphorism] could be called a digression---or, for effect, a 'tangent'). My bad. Maybe you'll make a good moderator one day, and keep all that irrelevance (basically, any post more than two threads in...) off the page.
