What exactly is M2M? Aren't all electronic communications machine to machine? I don't recall a remote machine communicating directly with me lately.
Does the term have a precise technical definition? Or are we away with the marketing fairies again?

As really cool as all this is (or will be), it all flows through IP addresses. Until V6 is far more fully implemented, there are not even close to enough addresses. Then we must provide for security. Example: Thief acquires the address of the household or security controller. What will take to break through the firewall?
