Would like more info about the WD SS drives for laptops. Price, speed. reliability, etc.
How do you expect to get such information? But here's an idea: Check WD's website when to product is offered.

Yes it time WD gets into the ssd market, it whats coming. It means outsourcing now but the learning curve will be ahead of others. This may mean a price brake for consumers. Smaet move WD

If I'm interpreting the pictures rightly, the only pure SSD in the bunch is the little one with the funny connector. Yawn!
Not sure how you come to your conclusion. Would one more model have made you yawn less, or were you prepared to yawn regardless?
just like the WD drives with platters in them. There's the cut outs and the cover indentations for the platters. It is possible that WD just used up old stock of drive covers, but the look like they're hybrid drives with a platter as well as a SSD for buffer and cache.

Confused
charleyj98 10th Jan
The descriptions of the "Black" and "Blue" drives confused me completely. Perhaps this article can be edited to clear up such confusion.
WD hve been using 3 colours on their hard drives but I'm told they are phasing out the green line of drives.
Black is optimized for performance at the expense of noise and power consumption and generally have a larger cache.
Blue is the general use drive that designed to be a good balance of performance, power consumption, and noise.
Green is designed to use little power and make as little noise as possible at the expense of performance.

I an an engineer not a photographer but I am certain I could photograph these drives so that the pictures meant something. We are told there is a new connector but the photos do not show it in a way that informs. We are offered "View full size" and get the same sized photo.
Other contributors seem to be as confused as I am.

Colours !!

Picture 3:
"The WD Black SSHD comes a new standard of port connecter and will not work with existing SATA port in most laptop computer"
Picture 7:
"The WD Black SSHD, however, comes in standard design of the 2.5-inch laptop drive, including its SATA connector. "
What is wrong with SATA?

Not even the specs? Oh no worries, you can go somewhere else to get info.

Why bother even mentioning it here?
