Hi Andy,This was a great article. I'm a regular user of IFTTT but hadn't come across Zapier until now. I was surprised to see one of my "recipes" used as an example!http://bish.co.uk/2012/08/01/a-great-free-way-to-receive-sms-alerts/The only thing that I thing IFTTT is really missing in my opinion, is a Google Plus Channel. I regularly post articles to LinkedIn, Twitter, FaceBook and G+. All of these can be automated apart from G+. This is a real shame but as IFTTT develops, I hope that they'll add this functionality. Thanks for the article.RB

I have used IFTTT, still use it for storing starred Google Reader items to Evernote. If you want more flexibility, Google Apps scripts are a better alternative. For example, to send a Gmail message to Evernote, with a IFTTT you can only send it to one notebook, and the message loses all formatting. Using a Google Apps script, you can send it to any notebook, and it keeps all formatting, and attachments.http://www.harryonline.net/evernote/send-google-mail-to-evernote/226There are many good examples of Google Apps Scripts, so you don't need to do the programming yourself. So finding or creating a script is a good alternative if you need more power or flexibility than IFTTT or Zapier can offer.
