Using gnome these days looks like more a sign of inability to any sort of change. Gnome 3 and Unity have proved that already, what irritates even more, is the amount of reluctance to seek for alternatives that are plenty. Gnome,Unity,KDE obsession is annoying, it is twice annoying because other, more advanced frameworks already exist, just go and grab them.
Unfortunately people prefer to be ignorant and grow gigabytes of ram, thus only supporting the ill tendency. This is sad and this is irritating.
