The one thing I've run across that small businesses always forget to check when installing servers is that many office buildings turn off their A/C during off-hours/weekends and the server areas can easily get into the upper 90's or higher if the room is enclosed. Always check on the air conditioning for the location.
All these are very good points but specially security is very important thing.
In IT Support buy decisions also a big factor with security, i learn lot about IT support and it's important factor from http://www.techtou.com
Be also aware of the fact that Saturdays and Sundays are normal workdays for example in the middle east! Whenever you plan your maintenance windows, make sure you take this into account.
It is also important to assess the legal situation or risk when having sensitive e.g. personal medial information, in remote locations. Some data is clearly not allowed to leave a country because of legal requirements.
If you need to give rights to other groups to manage servers in remote locations, try delegating specific permissions instead of just giving them local administrator access. That way, they can support the servers or applications without having more privileges than needed. A tool called System Frontier makes it easy to do just that. http://systemfrontier.com
