The question however is what it takes to do this efficiently and cost effectively for business apps.
You still need a development tools that meets the following criteria:
The tool needs to be complete in terms of depth and breadth
----- Areas of completeness include:
Comprehensive reporting (HTML5,PDF,) complex business logic, SQL database access, web services support, reporting, charting, transactions, mapping, scheduling, security, images, video, reliability, performance, scalability.
Productivity is also very important as is extensibility. Other factors include flexibility and ease of hosting.
Finally - how difficult is it to wrap the Html5 in such a way that it is very easy for the developer to add photo and video support with compression and the ability to add images to the database record. Also it needs to be easy to add support for credit card processing, bar code or QR code scanning and other hardware specific functionality that is not available through HTML 5.
