You could use a W8 phone with these features built into it!

The problem with that suggestion is that you would be stuck with a W8 device. Apps make the device and iPhone / Android have that market cornered. These are the two platforms of choice - any others are a lost cause.
Do not see the need to have a device that I have to go and install a ton of different add-ons to accomplish what I can do today with my WP8 and Surface RT.

Yes you may get some differnt features using these add-ons. But everything listed above can be done with a Windows Phone and Surface RT and having Skydrive sync to my computer.

No need to convert data from one format to another with my office documents.

I use OneNote everyday for all my note taking and it syncs to my skydrive. Only thing I had to do was have Skydrive installed on my Windows 7 computer.
OneNote, Office Docs, all sync between my devices.

Once we upgrade our SharePoint Server it will add even more flexability.
Kingston Office is a terrible app.
Slow, sluggish, full of bugs - it came included with my Tablet - POS.
I use the apps on my WP8 and they work perfectly for me straight out of the box.
