Once upon a Time in a land Far Far Away any company wanted to make a Profit. Now every company wants to make a bigger profit than they did last year and do everything possible to achieve this.
Where the Free Enterprise System Fails Totally is in the Share Holders Greed which they themselves consider as their single redeeming quality. This is carried through from the Boards of Directors who give themselves massive bonuses and unjustifiable salary packages to the end share holder who has lost sight of the fact that trading on the Stock Market is Gambling not a guaranteed way to make money.
What is amazing is how a failing company rewards their management for their stupidity by taking the company to failure by proceeding down a path that has no possibility of generating any long term profitability for that company. The Share Holders also accept this and continue to blindly follow the Boards without question.
So over all I guess everyone involved gets exactly what the deserve nothing.
