First off, there is at least one glaring omission from the manufacturers compared in the spreadsheet - IBM, a key Wintel server players. For it to be a useful snap-shot ALL significant players should feature (a number of others are candidates for inclusion).

As a tool, this one isn't up to the usual high Techrepubic standard. A static snapshot of a portion of the market doesn't provide the planning / decision-making assistance that SysAdmins and IT Mgrs require.

If this high-level spreadsheet is intended for serious technical comparison when considering server upgrades, consolidation etc the user might find themselves caught considerably short when it comes to implementation.

Does the lack of depth and breadth in this spreadsheet really add any value?

I cant locate the spread sheet. can you please help me with its location if it has been moved.
