What is a recommended cost-effective (under $300-400) multifunctional network-enabled printer available? This device shall print color, black & white, receive/send fax, scan, and copy. It must also have a built-in Ethernet port to make it accessible to all PCs on the LAN. Thanks.

Why did you not compared this printer with the cheap Epson EPL 5800 which works very well for half investment cost ?

Brother could not help to fix the problems with the USB-Driver on the HL-1850. It's not possible for me to print under connection on internet messages, full screens, lists etc. After a strange message on screen the printer starts to print out strange characters (only some on a page) feed paper over paper and cannot be stopped over the printer assistant. It must be stopped by pushing severall times the JOB CANCEL Button on Brothers Panel or by switch off the power. When I switch the USB Connector to my older HP Printer all works fine. Ergo some must be wrong with the Driver USB-Driver of Brother. On Parallelport also the Brother HL-1850 works fine. The tip of the Brother's was: Take the Parallel Port ... Around the world this fault is not remarked yet.
