Hate to buck the trend, but I'll never own a desktop again. My laptop takes much less precious space at home. I agree they're a pain to lug around, but I never do anyway unless I'm traveling.

My work machine is also a laptop which has an external monitor, keyboard and mouse. It doesn't travel often, either.
