Nothing is bad, just not for me...
Many times I have needed a computer of some sort to get me out of trouble. I use it for Photoshop, Flash, IM, email, etc. and I require it everywhere I go.
Granted, it's no workstation but I need something I can carry around. Cases are around $60 or $70, power supplies are $25, and well worth it. For many reasons they are good, but just as many they are bad. There is usually no NumPad, the backspace key is ridiculously small(I'm sure a few of you have that problem:) and the touchpad is tiny.
Since I have big hands it makes it all the more uncomfortable, but you get used to it. I always carry a 1-button mouse(can you see what laptop I'm talking about?) and the power supply and it suits my work just fine.
For me a laptop is a lifesaver when I can't carry around an onyx2 or linux/W2K workstation. They need to fix a few "ergo" issues for larger handed people and power users, or large handed power users.
All in all they help the people who need them.
