As usual, you are both entertaining and informative. I have just one tip to add.

Get in the habit of putting the cap back on the the marker as soon as you stop writing. Otherwise, you may find yourself using the marker as a pointer as you go deep into a topic. The next time you try to write, the marker has dried up. I've seen several instructors who did this and, I assume, it got expensive after a while.
