We have storage that cost's less.
We have information at our keyboards.
We have technology that requires retrenching and relearning constantly.
If we want to work on the best with the best we choose companies that lead. These companies often trade salary for equity. Many of these companies reward those that work late into the night with what, continued employment? Those who have experience, families and other things in their lives, find themselves with what, having to find new jobs.
Companies want plug in commonality. Take a UI guy, a DBMS guy a middle tier guy, a half baked idea, a little vulture capital, somemisguided devotion and what do you have???
