I've used this device presonally and think it's perfect for anyone who travels and makes frequent copies. Does anyone else feeling the same way?
We have staff that travel to insure quality of service, these people need to record information at the remote offices. They were making copies of the reports - coming back to the office - then scanning into the document managment system - then distroy the paper document. Now - they travel with the CAPSHARE - scan - get to their home office - point it at their laptop - transfer directly to the DMS - and deleted the scanned image. Saves loads of time.
It took them a little time to get how fastor slow to move the unit whils scanning - but other than that it is "Fool" proof.

The CIA would have loved this, until they ran out of memory.
I suppose I could use it to scan business cards. But you're right about it needing to be more flexible for storage needs. I'm sure they'll fix it, when sales don't take off. This would have to be a well justified purchase.

I use my Capshare nearly every day. It saves me time, as well as money that would be spent on copies. Plus, I can pass it over large framed maps and large books that are too big to put face-down on a copy machine or a flat-bed scanner.
Does anyone know why HP won't sell these things? My company has been trying to buy more of them for 4-5 years, but they're continually out-of-stock. Everywhere I go, people are intrigued with the Capshare, and most of them say they'd like to get one!

Hi,
I was searching the web to buy a HP Capshare, and ran across your post on TechRepublic. I noticed that you posted this in January, but thought you may still have this scanner, and if you don't do you know how I can buy one cheap, besides ebay. And if you dont and someone else has this for sale, let me know @ mha_nshipp@hotmail.com
Thanks
Nicole
