The ole "$p$g" trick has been around since the original days of old DOS 2.x. And who could forget the old tricks with ANSI to produce COLOR prompting. Now that was being a true "geek". Now what will you do when you HAVE to use the Explorer GUI in Windows XP that provides the same information? There is no DOS in Windows XP .. or is there?
greetings
I have a home computer that strangely enough right at the moment the warranty expired the 'pc' lost it's connection to the internet. The message stated that my 'modem' is either not connected or that it (modem) was not recognized.
I presumed that the problem was with the modem because I continuously got an "Error" message. The last(error message) being "ERROR MESSAGE 666" pardon my vain attempt at humour at this point. Joviality is not foremost on my mind at the moment but is it either possessed or just F%$#@KED. If the latter, I don't think these computers are biodegradable so throwing this into the ocean is not the solution. (neither is peurilty)
So I figured I'd buy a new modem which I'd promptly reinstalled in a new port. This did not alleviate the "Error" messages.
I would like to know if it is at all possible to get an 'url' address to a sight that would explain error messages. I could for the life ome find the problem/solution on the 'HELP' panels. Or on any site for that matter.

Thank you very much. Have a very nice day
