On the issue of Single System Image requirements,
I would add the capability to do a "single" OS installation.

HP's (formerly Digital / Compaq) TRU64 Unix has a great feature that greatly reduces the number of OS installations (1) and time required to build / add nodes into a cluster. All that is needed is a single FULL installation. Additional nodes are added by supplying a few parameters and booting the new node into the cluster and voila' a new cluster member is online.
