Not really
While insurance is more expensive since I don't get the "group discount" that employers get, I get to choose my own insurance and its probably one of the best you can get.
Since I don't work on my client's site, I can work when I'm sick without breaking out of my routine. I can even wear a t-shirt, jeans and pink bunny slippers every day to work!
I don't have a 401(k) plan, although I'm working on it, but I can get into investments that most employees can't. Read "Rich Dad, Poor Dad."
I don't get paid vacations either but I also don't have to ask permission to take time off and if I wanted to(and I have) I could take an entire month off. An employee would have to be at their company for at least 5 years to get that perk.
