Outsource everything overseas???
That assumes the managers know what and how the current IT system operate so they can communicate that to the overseas operations. I worked on intergrating a few outsourced systems with our domestic systems and it usually was a complete mess. That$6/hr code costs us full-timers about 2000+ man-hours each time to integrate and it still wasn't 100%. I got disgusted and went contract programming for $50/hr (a "good" rate in this economically depressed part of the US).
You would think thatthe Silicon Valley companies would be heavily poaching computer programming contractors that are willing to telecommute for $50/hr. because they live in economically depressed parts of America and don't want to move from their low cost of living communities. Sadly, that is not the case.
