Not a very mature attitude. This kind of gunslinger posturing may work in a small company. But in an organization with more than one or two layers of management, how can you possibly know what's "in their best interest"?
If you're not a C-level decision maker, it's quite likely that you are not party to both long and short-term business plans.
It's this kind of "Get out my way, I'm the expert" attitude that has given many IT departments a bad reputation for being out of alingment withtheir organization's core business initiatives.
